The short answer
Under the official Terms of Use (effective 1 October 2026), a Lagos Life account can be restricted, suspended or terminated when the operator reasonably believes the Terms have been broken (Terms §19). Automated security checks can also add extra verification or temporary restrictions on their own (Privacy §16). The listed triggers include being under 18, selling or sharing an account, selling Game Naira for real money, fraudulent chargebacks, bots and exploits, and unlawful or abusive content. If it happens to you, the realistic route is the operator's support address, support@lagoslife.app. This independent guide cannot review or restore accounts, and the official documents we checked publish no appeal procedure, timeline or success rate.
Conduct the Terms prohibit
Section 17 of the Terms lists prohibited conduct, and Section 15 adds rules for chat, messages and other content players submit. Grouped by theme, in our own words:
- Automation and exploits: using bots, scripts, macros, automated systems or unauthorised software to play or interact with the game; exploiting bugs or unintended mechanics; duplicating virtual items or currency; manipulating the game economy by unauthorised means (§17).
- Accounts and security: creating accounts for farming, fraud or circumvention; trying to access another player's account; getting around security or abuse-prevention systems; interfering with servers or infrastructure; scraping the service without permission (§17).
- Trading and payments: buying or selling accounts; exchanging Game Naira for real money outside authorised game mechanics; fraudulent transactions; using someone else's payment method without authorisation; deceiving advertisers, players or the operator (§17).
- Content and behaviour: publishing or sending content that is unlawful, infringes intellectual property, deceptively impersonates someone, contains malicious software, facilitates fraud, amounts to unlawful harassment or threats, unlawfully discloses another person's private information, exploits or abuses another user, or attempts to compromise the service (§15).
Helping another person do any of the §17 items is prohibited too. Under §15 the operator may moderate, restrict, remove, preserve or disclose user content where reasonably necessary to enforce the Terms, comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse or secure the service.
Four specific triggers
Being under 18. Lagos Life is intended only for adults. Creating an account or using the game counts as your statement that you are at least 18 and legally able to accept the Terms, and the operator may suspend or terminate an account where it reasonably believes the user is under 18 (Terms §2). The Privacy Policy says it does not knowingly offer accounts to children and may suspend an account it learns belongs to someone under 18 (Privacy §17). Sign-up basics are on our how to play page.
Selling, renting or sharing an account. You must not sell, rent, transfer, share or commercially trade your account without the operator's written permission (Terms §3), and buying or selling accounts appears again in §17. Section 3 also makes you responsible for activity carried out through your account, except where unauthorised activity results from circumstances you are not legally responsible for. Handing your login to someone else can therefore breach the rules and leave you answerable for what they do.
Selling Game Naira for cash. Game Naira is a fictional game unit that cannot be withdrawn to a bank or redeemed for real money (Terms §5; see our game money guide). Where the game permits transfers between players, those stay inside the game. The Terms forbid selling Game Naira for real-world money, running unauthorised exchanges, brokering it for cash or otherwise trying to create a real-money market around the game economy (§5, §17).
Fraudulent chargebacks. You must not start a fraudulent or dishonest chargeback for a purchase that was properly delivered. If a chargeback, reversal or payment dispute leaves the operator unpaid for delivered Game Naira or another digital benefit, it may reverse the related virtual transaction, suspend the relevant account or take other reasonable action (Terms §10, Chargebacks). The same section keeps consumer remedies that cannot legally be waived. Refunds and payment disputes are covered in detail on our refund page.
Device fingerprinting and automated checks
Some restrictions can start with automated systems rather than a person. The Terms say Lagos Life may use technical security measures, including device fingerprinting and related signals, to identify fraud, abuse, account farming, unauthorised automation, suspicious activity and attempts to circumvent platform restrictions (Terms §18).
The Privacy Policy explains that fingerprinting may combine characteristics of a browser, device, session, network or other technical environment to find patterns associated with account farming, fraud, unauthorised automation, bot activity, repeated abuse, circumvention of restrictions, suspicious registrations and security threats. It states that this is for platform security and abuse prevention, not for turning a player's real-world identity into an advertising profile (Privacy §2).
Security systems may also automatically flag activity as suspicious based on account, transaction, device, session, behavioural or technical signals. The Privacy Policy lists the possible results as additional verification, temporary restrictions, transaction review, rate limits, abuse-prevention measures or referral for further review (Privacy §16). Note that creating another account to get around a restriction is itself listed as prohibited conduct (Terms §17). This guide does not offer ways around these systems.
The range of enforcement actions
Section 19 of the Terms allows proportionate action where the operator reasonably believes the Terms have been violated. The options it lists are:
- warnings;
- restrictions;
- removal of content;
- transaction reversal;
- correction of fraudulently obtained assets;
- temporary suspension;
- permanent suspension; or
- termination of an account.
The Terms do not say these steps must happen in a fixed order. Serious fraud, security incidents, exploitation or unlawful activity may lead to immediate action, and where appropriate and legally permissible, relevant information may be preserved or provided to competent authorities (§19).
In other words, "banned" in a forum post could describe anything from a temporary security limit to permanent termination. If the game shows you a message, note exactly what it says and when it appeared; that wording is the best clue to which situation applies.
What you can realistically do
- Contact the operator. The Terms identify Shalom Rayhamen, Nigeria, as the operator and list support@lagoslife.app as the contact (Terms §32). Use the address published in the official Terms of Use, not one passed around in chat.
- Send facts, not secrets. As general advice, include your username, roughly when the problem started and any on-screen message, and leave your password out of the email. For privacy requests, the operator may need to verify your identity before completing them (Privacy §15).
- Ask for human review of an automated decision, where it applies. The Privacy Policy lists a right, where applicable, to seek human review of certain solely automated decisions (§15), and says it will respect a legal right to request human intervention or contest a qualifying automated decision (§16). Whether your case qualifies depends on the law and the decision; we cannot assess it.
- Use your data-protection rights. Subject to applicable law, §15 also lists rights to information about processing, access, correction of inaccurate information, restriction, objection and a complaint to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). Some rights have legal exceptions. These are privacy rights, not a published ban-appeal process.
- Handle payment disputes separately. If a restriction followed a chargeback or failed payment, read the refund page before filing anything new.
- Do not pay third parties to fix it. The Terms list only the operator's own contact. This guide's address, contact@lagoslife.io, reaches an independent editor who cannot view, unban or change any account (see contact).
What this guide has not verified
The official documents we checked do not describe an appeal process. Not confirmed yet:
- the steps, form or details needed to challenge a suspension or termination;
- how quickly support replies, or how long a temporary suspension lasts;
- how often decisions are reversed;
- whether players are always notified, and what a restriction looks like in the game;
- what happens to Game Naira, items or purchases on a suspended or terminated account.
We have not created an account, received a restriction or contacted support, so nothing here is first-hand experience of enforcement. For the current position, read the official Terms of Use and Privacy & Cookie Policy, or ask support directly.
