How to delete your account

To delete a Lagos Life account, you make a request to the operator. Section 20 of the official Terms of Use says players may ask for deletion through an in-game feature where one is available, or by contacting Lagos Life. The contact address published in Terms section 32 and Privacy Policy section 20 is support@lagoslife.app; both documents name the operator as Shalom Rayhamen, Nigeria.

We have not logged in to Lagos Life, so as of October 8, 2026 we cannot tell you whether a delete option exists inside the account screens or where it would be. If you cannot find one after signing in, emailing the operator is the route the Terms themselves name. For how sign-up and login work, see how to play.

Deletion is not the same as being suspended. If the operator restricted or closed your account, read account banned instead.

What soft deletion means

The official Privacy Policy states in section 11: "Lagos Life supports soft deletion of accounts." Terms section 20 adds that deletion may initially be carried out as a soft deletion.

In plain terms, a soft-deleted account may stop being accessible to you, while some of its records stay in the operator's systems. According to Privacy section 11, that can last for a limited period or for as long as there is a legitimate purpose. When keeping the information is no longer necessary, the operator says personal information will be deleted, anonymized or otherwise handled as the law requires (Privacy section 11; Terms section 20).

So a deletion request does not promise that every trace disappears at once. Privacy section 11 also says that deleting an account does not necessarily oblige the operator to erase information it is legally entitled or required to keep.

Records that may remain

Privacy section 11 lists the reasons the operator may keep information after a deletion request:

  • transaction ledgers and payment reconciliation;
  • chargeback handling;
  • fraud prevention, abuse prevention and security;
  • moderation history;
  • legal compliance, dispute resolution and legal claims.

Terms section 20 gives a similar list, adding enforcement and accounting.

Why transfers with other players matter. Lagos Life has a shared player economy. Privacy section 12 explains that transaction and economy records may need to survive an account deletion to keep the ledger consistent, preserve transfers involving other players, support fraud investigations, reconcile payments and keep dispute records. If you sent Game Naira to another player, that player's side of the history still exists, which is one reason the record may stay. The same section says such records may, where possible and appropriate, be pseudonymized or separated from information that directly identifies your account.

What kinds of data are involved. Privacy section 2 describes the categories the operator may hold: account details such as display name, username, email address, account identifiers and account status; gameplay data such as Game Naira balances, purchases and player-to-player transfers; social content such as messages, posts, reports and moderation records; and payment details such as transaction reference, amount, currency, status and time. Card or bank credentials may be handled directly by the payment provider (Flutterwave, or Bachs for payments before October 6, 2026) rather than stored by Lagos Life.

How long. Privacy section 10 does not give a fixed number of days. It says different categories may be kept for different periods, depending on factors such as whether a transaction still needs reconciling, fraud and security needs, legal limitation periods, open disputes, enforcement history, and whether the data can be anonymized instead.

Your privacy rights

Privacy section 15 says that, subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • be told how your data is processed and request access to it;
  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • request deletion where applicable, or restriction of certain processing;
  • object to certain processing and request portability where applicable;
  • withdraw consent where processing relies on it;
  • seek human review of certain solely automated decisions;
  • lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

Some of these rights have legal exceptions, and the operator may need to verify your identity before acting on a request (Privacy section 15). Questions, requests and complaints about privacy go to the operator at support@lagoslife.app (Privacy section 20).

Do not confuse the game's policy with this site's privacy policy, which only covers this independent guide.

Checklist before you ask

These are practical suggestions from this guide, not steps the operator requires.

  1. Decide about your Game Naira first. Under Terms section 5, Game Naira is a fictional game unit that cannot be withdrawn to a bank or redeemed for real money, so deleting the account will not pay out your balance. Transfers between players are allowed only where the game permits them and stay inside the game; selling Game Naira for real money, or selling or trading the account itself without written permission, is prohibited (Terms sections 3 and 5). Our money guide covers the basics.
  2. Note the account details. Write down the username and the email address on the account (both are account information under Terms section 3) so the operator can find it. Sending the request from that email address may help, since identity checks are possible.
  3. Keep your payment receipts. If you bought Game Naira, keep the receipt and transaction reference. Payment reconciliation and disputes are among the reasons records may outlive the account, and your own copy is useful if a question comes up later. If a purchase did not arrive, look at refunds before you delete.
  4. Never send your password or one-time login codes, to the operator or anyone else.
  5. Keep a dated copy of your request and any reply.

A short request could read: "Please delete my Lagos Life account. Username: [your username]. Email on the account: [your email]. Please confirm what information will be retained and for what purpose."

What we have not verified

The following points are Not confirmed yet. The published policies do not answer them and we have not tested them:

  • Where the delete option is. We have not logged in, so we have not seen an in-account delete button.
  • How long it takes. No processing time for a deletion request is published.
  • What confirmation looks like. We do not know whether the operator sends a confirmation email or what it contains.
  • Whether you can undo it. No rules for reactivating a soft-deleted account are published.
  • What happens to an unspent balance on a soft-deleted account beyond the fact that it is not converted to cash.

Ask the operator at support@lagoslife.app for any of these, and recheck the official pages because their effective date may change. If you want to judge the operator more broadly, see is Lagos Life legit. All our references are listed on the sources page.
